Answer:

2 m/s²

Explanation:

Given:- u=0, v=40, t=20

Now, What ?‍♂️

From v=u+at

40=0+ a(20)

20a=40

a=2 m/ Ans

The acceleration of the bus is 0.6 m/s².

Explanation:

It is stated that,

Final velocity of the bus after  20 seconds = 40 km/hr

Hence, the velocity = (40×5/18) m/s

                                       = (20×5/9) m/s

                                       = (100/9) m/s

                                       = 11.11 m/s

∴ We get, the velocity after 20 seconds is 11.11 m/s.

The bus starts from rest.

Hence,

Initial velocity(u) = 0

Final velocity(v) = 11.11 m/s

Time(t) = 20 seconds

Let, the acceleration be, "a"

We know that,

v = u+at

∴ 11.11 = 0 + a×20

⇒(100/9) = 20a

⇒20a = 100/9

⇒ a =100/(9×20)

⇒ a = (5/9)

⇒ a = 0.55 m/s²

⇒ a = 0.6 m/s²

∴ The acceleration of the bus is 0.6 m/s²
