Answer:

(a) = 12 m/s

(b) = 720m

Explanation:

u = 0 (initial velocity)

a = 0.1m/s²(acceleration)

t = 2 min (time) = 120 sec

(a) speed = v

From the first equation of motion,

We have,

v = u+at

substituting the values,

v = 0+0.1*120

v = 12 m/s

.ie. speed is 12m/s

(b) distance = s

From the third equation of motion,

We have,

2as = v² - u²

substituting the values,

2*0.1*s = 12²-0²

0.2s = 144

s = 144/0.2

s = 144*10/2

s = 720m

Given :-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0
  • Acceleration (a) = 0.1m/s²
  • Time (t) = 2 min = 2*60 = 120s

To find :-

  • Speed acquired
  • Distance travelled

Solution :-

According to the first equation of motion

→ v = u + at

→ v = 0 + 0.1*120

→ v = 12m/s

Hence, final velocity is 12m/s

According to the second equation of motion

→ s = ut + ½ at²

→ s = 0*120 + ½ × 0.1 × (120)²

→ s = 0 + ½ × 0.1 × 120 × 120

→ s = 0 + 0.1 × 60 × 120

→ s = 720 m

Hence,

  • Distance covered by bus is 720m
