Time t taken to reach the destination is -

t = s/18

It waits for 40 min (=2400 s) and travels back at 28 m/s in same time.

s/18 = 2400 + s/28

Solving this,

14s = 2400×18×14 + 9s

5s = 604800

s = 120960 m

Substitute this in t = s/18,

t = 120960 / 18

t = 6720 s

t = 112 min

The bus will thus reach its destination at 6:00 pm + 112 min = 7:52 pm.
