A bus starts from rest and attains 40km/hr velocity after 10 seconds. Calculate the acceleration of Bus (i) km/h2 (ii) m/s2

Given, initial velocity of bus u = 0

final velocity v = 40km/h or 100/9 m/s

time period t = 10second or 1/360hour

Now,

(i) acceleration in km/h^2

a = v-u/t

= (40 - 0)/(1/360)

= 40 × 360

= 14400km/h^2

(ii) acceleration in m/s

a = (100/9 - 0)/10

= 100/90

= 1.111 m/s
