Velocity = Acceleration × time
40 × 5 / 18 = a × 10
Acceleration = 10/9m/s^2.
Hope it helps!

40 km/hr=40*(5/18)
So
Velocity of body=100/9. m/s
Since the body was at rest ,,, the initial velocity = 0 m/s
Now
Accelartion =(v-u)/t
After placing the particulasrs in the formulas
The equation becomes
((100/9)-0)/10
So accelartion is 10/9=1.1m/s^2
So
