A bus starts with a constant acceleration at the same time a car moving with constant velocity of 5 m/s overtakes the bus . How far from the starting point the bus overtakes the car. How fast the bus was moving at the time of overtake...please answer my question .

let the dist covered by each vehicle = s

let acceleration of the bus = a

and u = 0 (given)

so,

for Bus, s = 0 x t + 0.5 x a x t^2 ..... (1)

for car,. s = 5 x t ...... (2)

using eqn (1) & (2)...

5 x t = 0.5 x a x t^2

=> a x t = 10 ..... (3)

for Bus at the time of overtake ,

v = 0 + a x t = 10

so, bus was moving at 10 m/s at the time of overtake. ... ans....

Now, to find distance you must have some given value of the acceleration of the bus...
