A bus starts from rest (u = 0)  with acceleration (a = 0.1) for (t = 2)

u = v + at

v = -at

v = - (0.1)(2)= -0.2

s= ut + (at²/2)

s= (0.1)(2)²/2

s= 0.4/2 = 0.2

Answer:

V = 12 m/s

S = 720 metres

Explanation:

Given:

Initial velocity = u = 0 m/s

Acceleration = a = 0.1 m/s²

Time = t = 2 minutes = 120 seconds

To find:

  • Final velocity of the bus (v)
  • Distance covered by the bus (s)

Using first equation of motion:

V=u+at

V=0+0.1×120

V=0.1×120

V = 12 m/s

Now using third equation of motion:

V²-u²=2as

12²-0²=2×0.1×s

144-0=0.2s

s = 144/0.2

s = 720 metres

The distance covered is equal to 720 metres
