Answer:

Speed of bus is 45 Km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Whether the train travels or the bus the distance between Vardha and Pune i.e 900 Km remains same.

let speed of bus and train be T and B Km/hr respectively.

According to question T= B+15........(1)

Let the train covers the distance in t hours.

then the bus covers the distance in (t+5) hours.

We know that velocity= distance/time

therefore, distance = velocity*time........(2)

the product of velocity and time remains same because distance covered is same

i.e T*t(for train)=B*(t+5)

from(1)

(B+15)t=B(t+5)

Bt+15t=Bt+5B

B=3t............(3)

from (2)

900=B*(t+5) ( since distance is 900 Km)

from(3)

900=3t(t+5)

300=t²+5t

⇒t²+5t-300=0

⇒t²+20t-15t-300=0

⇒t(t+20)-15(t+20)=0

⇒(t-15)(t+20)=0

since t can't be negative

t=15 hours

From(3)

B=45 Km/hr

Hence speed of bus is 45 Km/hr.
