{\huge{\underline{\underline{\bold{\green{Answer:-}}}}}}

{\huge{\underline{\bold{\red{Given:-}}}}}

1) Speed=42km/hr

2) Time=5hr

{\huge{\underline{\bold{\blue{by\: formula:-}}}}}

Speed=distance/time………(1)

Distance=Speed×time

{\huge{\underline{\bold{\red{so,}}}}}

Distance=42km/hr×5hr=210 km

{\huge{\underline{\bold{\green{Therefore,}}}}}

time required when speed is increased by 8 km/hr:

Time =Distance/speed….from(1)

Increased speed=(42+8)km/hr=50km/hr

Time=210/50

{\huge{\underline{\bold{\pink{final\: answer:-}}}}}

Time=4.2hr

Time required when speed is increased by 8km/hr is 4.2 hror 4 hrs 12 minutes. .

So time saved = 5 hrs - 4 h 12 m = 48 minutes.

Answer :- 48 minutes

Given that,

➜ A bus is travelling at 42 km/hr covers a distance in 5 hours.

To Find the amount of time that would be saved if the speed was increased by 8 km/hr

We know,

Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance = 42 × 5

Distance = 210 km

In Case 2, The speed is increased by 8 km/hr, So new speed is 50 km/hr and distance that would be travelled is still same i.e., 210 km

Distance = Speed × Time

Time = Distance / Speed

Substituting values,

⇒ Time = 210/50

Time = 4.2 hours

Now, The time taken previously was 5 hours or 300 minutes and after increasing the speed, It came to be 4.2 hours or 252 minutes

Because, 1 hour = 60 minutes

Time Difference = 300 - 252

Time saved = 48 minutes

Hence, It would save 48 minutes.
