Answer: we knowthat for converting km/hr into m/s we have to multipy by 5/18 therefore; 72km/hr= 20m/s

breakes are applied than v=o  so,

v=u+at

o=20+a(10)

0-20=10a

a=20/10

a= -2m/s-2

Explanation:

We have to first find the retardation.

Using the third equation of motion: v2 – u2 = 2as

where: s = distance covered = 10 mv = final velocity = 0 m/s (brakes are applied so that buscomes to rest)u = initial velocity = 72 km/h = 20 m/sa = acceleration = ? m/s2

v2 – u2 = 2as

0 – 202 = 2 × a × 10

-400 = 20 × a

= a

a = -20 m/s2
