A bus travelling the first one-third distance at a speed of 10kmph the next one-fourth at 20kmph and the next remaining at 40kmph .what is the average speed of the bus​

as distance is same then

avg speed = 3×v1×v2×v3/v1v2+ v2v3+v3v1

v1 = 10kmph v2 = 20kmph v3 = 60kmph

avg speed = 3 ×10×20×60/10(20) + 20(60)+60(10)

= 36000/200+1200+600

= 36000/2000

= 18 kmph

therefore , avg speed = 18 kmph
