A bus travels a distance of 120km with a speed of 40km/h and returns with a speed of 30km/h. Calculate the average speed for the entire journey.

speed of bus. =40km/hr
time taken =distance covered /speed
=120/40
=3hr
distance covered by bus(returning)=120km
speed of bus = 30km/hr
time taken = 120/30
=4h

average speed = total distance covered /total time taken
=120+120/4+3
=240/7
=34.2km/hr
average speed of bus=34.2km/hr
