Question :

A bus travels at a speed of 75 km/hr for 45minutes and then travels at a speed of 90 km/hr for 45 minutes. What distance will it cover in one and a half hour ?

Solution :

Given Time=45 min=45/60 hrs

We know that

Distance = Speed x Time

=75*45/60 + 90*45/60

=75*3/4 + 45*3/2

=(75*3 + 45*3*2) / 4

=(225+270)/4

=495/4

=123.75 km

So , required answer is A

More to know :

  • The equation for speed is distance traveled/time to travel that distance
  • The SI unit of speed is m/s
  • The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the intervel
