u = 60 km/h

v = 120 km/h

distance  traveled in first interval = 40 km

distance  traveled in second interval = 60 km

average speed = \frac{120-60}{60-40} = \frac{60}{20} = 3 km/h

average velocity = \frac{v-u}{2} = \frac{120-60}{2} = 30 km/h
