A bus travels half of the distance at a speed of 100 kmph and other half of the distance 80

kmph. Find the average speed.​

Let each half of the running time be t.

During the first half time, speed of the bus is 100 km/h

Distance covered  d1 =100t km

During second half time, speed of the bus is 80 km/h

Distance covered  d2=80t km

Total distance covered  d=d1 +d2 = 100t+80t=180t

Total time is taken T=2t

Average speed= total Distance/ total Time

                          =180t/2t

                          =90 km/hr.
