A bus was moving with a speed of 36km/h. On applying brakes it stopped in 4 seconds.
Calculate acceleration and the distance travelled before sleeping

Given : u = 36 km/h = 10 m/s , v = 0 m/s ( since it is a case of retardation ) , t = 4 s

Using the relation a = v - u /t

= 0 - 10 / 4      

= -10/4

= -2.5 m/s²

Now , to find the displacement

using the relation v = d/t

d = v × t

= 36 × 4

= 144 km
