u = 54kmhr \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 54 \times  \frac{5}{18}  = 15ms \\ t = 8s \\ v = 0 \\ a =  \frac{v - u}{t} \\ a =  \frac{0 - 15}{8}   \\ a =  \frac{ - 15}{8}

\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Question}}}}

Information which is given,

u (Initial Velocity) = 54 km/h

u = 54 × 5/18

u = 15 m/s

Also,

v (Final Velocity) = 0 (Because bus stops by applying breaks)

t (Time taken) = 8 seconds.

Now,

Using 1st Equation of Motion,

v = u + at

⇒ 0 = 15 + a × 8

⇒ 0 = 15 + 8a

⇒ a = - 15/8

⇒ a = - 1.875 m/s²

Therefore,

Acceleration by bus = -1.875 m/s²
