Answer:

Given -:

  • A butterfly flies from a point P, 2 3/4 km towards north and 1 2/3 km towards south.

To Find -:

  • Find where it will be now from P?

Solution -:

A butterfly flies from a point P, 2 3/4 toward north.

And 1 2/3 toward south.

Thus,

The distance from a point P

 \frac{(2 + 3)}{4}  -  \frac{(1 + 2)}{3}

Now, find L.C.M.

 \frac{5 - 3}{12}

 \longrightarrow \frac{2}{12}

Hence, The butterfly is 2/12 km away from the point P.
