General formula for isomer is +CH2 for example C4H10 + CH2 = C5H12 i hope you understand...

- Actually, C4H1O, C5H12 & C6H14 are not isomers, but are members of homologous series called alkanes.
- These compounds contain similar structural formula C(n)H(2n+2), hence are called homologues.

B)
- C2H4, C3H6, C4H8 are all alkenes.
- All alkenes are represented by general formula C(n)H(2n).
