500+200=700(as 200 more people joined)=x days food.
Let's solve,
as its inverse proportion then,
500*70=700*x
500*70/700=x
x=50days.
If the number of people is 700 then the food will last for 50 days.

you can do using reverse proportion.
also in simple words as:
there is food for 500 people for 70 days.
so there is food for 1 person for 70* 500 = 35, 000 days.
Now there are 700 people...
So food will last : 35,000/700 = 50 days only.
