A camp has sufficient provision for 120 soldiers. If after 60 days, 40 soldiers were deputed elsewhere, how long will the remaining provision last for the remaining soldiers

My abuelita always said: “Where one eats, two can eat”. So, according to her, I believe the food will last for 60 days at least. Maybe twice that.

But, if you apply simple arithmetic here:

120s * 60d = 7,200 daily rations

120s + 40s = 160 soldiers

7,200r / 160s = 45 days
