B’s one day work =y

x+y=1/10 ……. (i)

2.5 x+8.5y=2/5

Or,25x+85y=4

Or, x+85/25 y=4/25 …… (ii)

(ii)-(i)

60/25 y=8/50–5/50=3/50

y=(3/50)*(25/60)=(3*25/50*60)=1/40

Put y=1/40 in (i)

x=1/10–1/40=3/40

A can complete in 13 1/3 days.

B can complete in 40 days
