Given :

A = 12 days

B = 16 days

C = 20 days.

A = left 4 days before.

B = left 2 days before.

According to the question :

A = 12 days , Left 4 days before

= 12 - 4

= 8 days.

B = 16 days , Left 2 days before

= 16 - 2

= 14 days.

C = 20 days.

So, total number of days :

A + B + C

= 8 + 14 + 20

= 42 days.

Hence , They finished the work in 42 days.

ANSWER

\Large\underline\bold{GIVEN,}

 \sf\dashrightarrow  A=12days

 \sf\dashrightarrow   B=16days

 \sf\dashrightarrow  C = 20 days.

 \sf\dashrightarrow   A = left \:4 \:days\:  before.

 \sf\dashrightarrow   B = left \:2 \:days\: before.

\Large\underline\bold{TO\:FIND, }

 \sf\therefore the\:days\:required\:to\:complete\:the\:work

\Large\underline\bold{SOLUTION,}

ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION,

 \sf\therefore  A = left \:4 \:days\:  before.

 \sf\therefore = 12 - 4

 \sf\therefore= 8 \:days.

\large{\boxed{\sf{A=8\:days}}}

 \sf\therefore   B = left \:2 \:days\: before.

 \sf\therefore 16-2

 \sf\implies 14\:days

\large{\boxed{\sf{B=14\:days}}}

 \sf\therefore number\:of\:days\:the\:work\:got\:over

 \sf\implies A+B+C

 \sf\implies 8+14+20

 \sf\therefore 42\:days

\sf{\boxed{\sf{42\:days}}}
