The share of B is Rs.12500.

Given:

A can complete a task in 10 days and B can complete the same task in 15 days. They start working together but A works for only 1 day. The remaining work is completed by B.

To Find:

B's share if the total wage is 1000.

Solution:

A and B complete the task in 10 days and 15 days respectively.

The LCM of 10 and 15 is 30. So the total work is 30 units.

The efficiency of A is

\frac{30}{10}=3units

The efficiency of B is

\frac{30}{15}=2 units

On the first day, both A and B had worked so the amount of work completed is

1day=5units

The remaining work is 30-5=25units.

25 units of work is to be completed by B only so it will be completed in

1day=2units\\25units=\frac{25}{2}days

And the wage of B is

\frac{25}{2}\times 1000=25\times 500\\ =Rs.12500

Thus, the share of B is Rs.12500.
