Step-by-step explanation:

A's one day work = 1/12

B's three day work = 1/6

therefore, B's one day work = 1/6÷3

= 1/6×1/3

= 1/18

(A+B)'s one day work = 1/12+ 1/18

= 5/36

therefore, time taken by both A and B to complete the whole work = 36/5 days

= 7 1/5 days
