Let W denotes the whole given work.

According to given data we have,

(i) A can complete the amount of work W/5 in 3 days.

(ii) B can complete the amount of work W/6 in 4 days.

Hence, from (i) & (ii) we get,

A & B in 1 day can complete the amounts of work W/5/3 & W/6/4 respectively by working alone.

It is mentioned that

A & B work together for 2 days and B leaves. Let D denotes the time (in days) that will be required for A to finish the remaining work.

Hence we get the following relation,

2*(W/5/3 + W/6/4) + D*(W/5/3) = W

or D/15 + 2*(1/15 + 1/24) = 1 or D/15 + 2*(13/120) = 1

or D/15 = 1 - 13/60 = 47/60

or D = 47/4 = 11 (3/4) (days) = 11 days 18 hrs [Ans]
