= 16×3/2

= 24 days

1/4 of a work is done by B = 3 days

1 of certain work is done by B = 3/1/4

= 3 ×4/1

= 12 days

work done by A in 1 day = 1/24

work done by B in 1 day = 1/12

work done by both (A + B) in 1 day = ( 1/24 + 1/12)

= ( 1 + 2/24)

= (3/24)

= 1/8 = 8 days
