Step-by-step explanation:

80/3 days, or 26 &2/3 days.

solution: Let work done by A I’ve defined as ‘a’ units per day. Let total work be defined as X units, and let work done by B be defined as ‘b’ units per day.

hence work done by A in 30 days = 30*a units which is equal to 3/4 X. 30*a =3/4 X……(1).hence a= x/40 units….(1.1)

now after joining by B, work done in 4 days is :

4*a + 4*b = 1/4 X……(2); putting value of ‘a’ from eqn. 1.1 , 4*(x/40) + 4b=1/4 x (2.1)

solving, 4b=1/4x- x/10= 3x/20, giving b = 3x/80…..units of work /day by B….

hence, time needed to complete full X units = 80/3 =26 & 2/3 days.
