A can do the work in 12 days.

Let us take the total work =1.

Efficiency is work done by time taken. So the efficiency of A = 1/12

B is 60% more efficient than A.

60% of 1/12 = (1/12)*(60/100)=(1/20)

So the efficiency of B = (1/12)+(1/20)

= 2/15=1/7.5

So reciprocal of that gives the no of days =7.5 days
