48/5 days are required to complete the job by C .

A can do a job in 16 days and B can do the same job in 12 days with the help of C they did the job in 4 days only.

We have to find the number of days to be taken by C along to do the same job.

∵ A can do a job in 16 days

∴ A can do the part of job in a day = 1/16

similarly, B can do the same job in 12 days

∴ B can do the part of job in a day = 1/12

now A , B and C can do the job in 4 days

∴ A , B and C can do the part of job in a day = 1/4

so, C alone can do the part of job in a day = A , B and C can do the part of job in a day - (A can do the part of job in a day + B can do the part of job in a day)

= 1/4 - (1/16 + 1/12)

= 12/48 - 7/48

= 5/48

∴ C alone can do the same job in 48/5 days.

Therefore 48/5 days are required to complete the job by C .
