The share of B is Rs 3.2.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • A can do a job in 20 hours.

The work rate of A will be : W_{A} =1/20\hspace{0.1 cm} job/hr

  • A and B together can do the same job in 12 hours.

The work rate of A will be : W_{A+B} =1/12\hspace{0.1 cm} job/hr

  • Let the time taken by B to get the same job done be x hours.

So, W_{A+B}} =W_{A}}+W_{B}

            \frac{1}{12}=\frac{1}{20}+\frac{1}{x}

            \frac{1}{x}=\frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{20}

            \frac{1}{x}=\frac{1}{30}

            x=30\hspace{0.1 cm} hrs

Hence, The ratio of work done =   \frac{W_{A}}{W_{B}}=\frac{\frac{1}{20}}{\frac{1}{30}}=\frac{30}{20}=\frac{3}{2}

Now, a total of Rs 8 are paid as wages.

So, 3x+2x=8

              5x=8

              x=\frac{8}{5}

Now, A will get Rs 3x and B will receive Rs 2x.

=\frac{2*8}{5}=3.2

Therefore, the share of B will be Rs 3.2.
