(i) A's one day work = 2/9

B's one day work = 1/9

(A+B)'s one day work = 2/9 + 1/9 = 1/3

therefore, time taken by A and B to finish the whole work together = 2

(ii) ratio of their work = 2/9 : 1/9

(their LCM is 9)

= 2/9×9 : 1/9×9

= 2:1

(sum of their ratios = 2+1 = 3)

A's share = 2/3 × 900

= 600 rupees

B's share = 1/3 × 900

= 300 rupees
