A can do the work in 10 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/10 of the work

B can the work in 15 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/15 of the work

A and B working together:

1 day = 1/10 + 1/15 = 1/6 of the work

Find the number of days:

1/6 of the work = 1 day

6/6 of the work = 1 x 6 = 6 days

Answer: A and B will need 6 days if they worked together.

Alternative way (short cut):

Number of days needed = ( 15 x 10)/ (15 + 10) = 6 days
