Question :-

  • A can do a piece of work in 10 days and B can do the same work in 20 days. In how many days they both will do the work together?

Answer

Given :-

  • A can do a piece of work in 10 days.
  • B can do the same work in 20 days.

To Find :-

  • Number of days they both will do the work together.

Solution :-

A can do a piece of work in 10 days.

⇛ A's 1 day work = 1/10.

B can do the same work in 20 days.

⇛ B's 1 day work = 1/20.

\bf \:So, \:  (A + B)'s  \: one  \: day  \: work = \dfrac{1}{10}  + \dfrac{1}{20}

\bf\implies \:\dfrac{2 + 1}{20}

\bf\implies \:\dfrac{3}{20}

So, number of days taken by A and B to finish the work is 20/3 days.
