B will take 9 days to finish the remaining work

Step-by-step explanation:

A can do part of work in 1 day = \frac{1}{12}

B can do part of work in 1 day = \frac{1}{16}

(A+B)'s 1 day work = \frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{16}=\frac{7}{48}

(A+B)'s 3 days work =\frac{7}{48} \times 3=\frac{7}{16}

Remaining work = 1-\frac{7}{16}=\frac{9}{16}

B can do 1 work in days = 16

B can do \frac{9}{16} work in days = \frac{9}{16} \times 16=9

Hence B will take 9 days to finish the remaining work
