number of days taken by A to do the work =12 days

number of days A had work for =2

It means that after 10 days would have completed the work.

after B joint A had taken 8 days

number of days taken by B=10-8

=2 days

it means that B can finish a work in 2 days which A can finish in 10 days

so the ratio of work is 10:2

=5:1

=5

number of days B will take to finish the work =5×12

= 60
