A can do a piece of work in 12 days. when he had worked for 3 days. b joined him. if they complete the work in 3 more days, in how many days can b alone finish the work

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

let the no. of days in which B alone can finish the work be x

given A can finish the work alone in 12 days

amount of work done in 12 days by A= 1

amount of work by A in 3 days= 3/12


amount of work done by B in x days=1

amount of work done by B in 3 days= 3/x

According to the ques---->

3/12 +3/12 +3/x=1

(first 3 days A works alone then A and B together do the work for 3 more days)

3/x= 1- 3/12 -3/12

3/x=1-1/2

3/x= 1/2

x=3*3

x=6 days

Thus B can finish the work alone in 6 days
