A \: \: can \: \: do \: \: 1/12 \: the \: \: work \: in \: one \: day.

B \: \: can \: do \: 1/24 \: the \: work \: in \: one \: day.

If they both work for a day they will complete,

1/12 + 1/24 = 3/24 =1/8 work in one day.

1/8th work × 8 days of this work gives one unit of work.

Always try to think of how much each can accomplish in one day and then add every individuals work for one day and then the fraction of work thats accomplished in one day × number of days to make that fraction to 1 gives the answer.

Assumption: A and B work their maximum potential on each day.

Answer:

24 days

Step-by-step explanation:

A can do a work in 24 days i.e. 1/24 days

A and B both can do the same work in 12 days i.e. 1/12 days

therefore, A can do the work in=

= 1/12 - 1/24

= 2/24 - 1/24

= 1/24 days = 24 days

so , A can do the work in 24 days
