Answer:

Work done by both of them working together

1) One day = 9/20 th of work

2) two day = 18/20 (or) = 9/10 th of work

3) Remaining work = 2/20 (or) 1/10 th of work

Step-by-step explanation:

Total work = no. of days * no. of work per day

Consider total work is 1.

A can do a piece of work in 4 days.

In one day A can do 1/4 th of work

B can do the same work in 5 days

in one day B can do 1/5 of work

Together they can do

 \frac{1}{4}  +  \frac{1}{5}  =  \frac{9}{20}

In one day they can do 9/20 th work.

Work done by both of them working together

1) One day = 9/20 th of work

2) two day = 9/20 (or) = 9/10 th of work

(Total work = no. of days * no. of work per day)

(1 = 2 * 9/20)

3) Remaining work = 2/20 (or) 1/10 th of work

(In Two days 18/20 work is completed. Hence 1-18/20 = 2/20)
