A can do a piece of work in 6 days and B can do the same work in 12 days. How many

Solution:

\thereforeThe work done by A in one day = 1/6

\becauseThe work done by B in one day=1/12

Let they together take x no. of days.

The work done by both of them in one day = 1/x

According to the question,

 \:  \:  \sf \:  \frac{1}{6}  +  \frac{1}{12}  =  \frac{1}{x}  \\  \\  \:  \sf \:  \frac{2 + 1}{12}  =  \frac{1}{x}  \\  \\  \:  \:  \sf \:  \frac{3}{12}  =  \frac{1}{x}  \\  \\  \:  \sf \: 3x = 12 \\  \\  \:  \sf \dagger  \therefore \: x = 4

\therefore

Therefore,they together take 4 days to complete a piece of work.
