METHOD 1

A alone can do the work in 8 days

So In One day A can do 1/8th work

B alone can do the same work in 10 days

So In One day B can do 1/10th work

One day work of A and B when working together is

1/8+1/10=9/40

So number of days they take to complete the entire work 40/9 days.

METHOD 2 LCM APPROACH

A = 8days

B = 10days

LCM(8,10)=40

This is the total work i.e = 40 units

So A per day work =40/8=5units

B per day work =40/10=4units

Per day work when A and B together works = (5+4)units=9units

So A and B together take 40/9 days to complete the entire work.
