A does (1/10)th of the work in 1 day.

B does (1/15)th of the work in 1 day.

A and B do (1/10)+(1/15) = (15+10)/(10*15) = 25/150 = (1/6)th of the work in 1 day. So, the work can be done by A and B together in 6 days.

Since B leaves the work, 2 days before the end of the work, let the work be done in x days of which A worked for x days and B worked for (x-2) days.

So, we have (x/10)+(x-2)/15 = 1, or

15x+10x-20 = 15*10 = 150

25x = 170, or

x = 170/25 = 34/5 or 6.8 days.

So the work is done in 6.8 days during which A worked for all 6,8 days and B worked for 4.8 days. Answer.
