A can do a work in 60 days and B can do the same work in 40 days. They work together for 12 days and then A goes away. In how many days will B finish the remaining work?

A does work in 60 days

so one day he does 1/60 th of work

similarly B in one day does 1/40 th work

both of them together do=1/60+1/40

time taken for them together to complete work

(1/60+1/40)*days=1

so days=40*60/100=24

so 24 days is taken for them to complete work together

if they work 12 days (half of 24) then half of work is completed.

remaining 1/2 work is done by B alone

so

1/60* days =1/2

days=30
