Answer:

In 16/3 days the remaining work will be completed

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of days  A takes = 6

No. of days B takes = 12

Total work to be done = LCM of 6 and 12 = 12 units

So, efficiency of A = 6/12 = 1/2

and efficiency of B = 12/12 = 1

ATQ,

Work completed = Work done by A in 2 days  + Work done by B in 3 days

                            =  1/2 X 2  + 1 X 3

                            = 1 + 3 = 4 units

Work remaining = 12 units - 4 units   = 8 units

No. of days =    8 / (1/2 + 1)

                   = 8 / (3/2)

                  = 16/ 3

Answer: 1 1/3 days More

additional days.

A speed : 1/6 work per day

B speed : 1/12 work per day

A+ B speed = 1/ ( 1/6+1/12) = 12x6/18= ===>1/4 work per day

Work remaining after two day of A

= 1- 2/6

=2/3

Work remaining after 3 days of B

= 2/3 - 3/12

= 13/36

= 1/3

Days taken for This Remaining work

= 1/3. Divided by 1/4

.= 4/3

or 1 1/3 days More Days
