A can do certain work in 6 days and b can do it in 8 days. They worked together for 2 days and then b left the work. How many days will a requrire to do the remaining work.

A 1 Day works 1/6
B 1 Day works 1/8
they both do d work in 2 days = 2*(1/6+1/8)
= 7/12
Remaining work= 1- 7/12 = 5/12
A does 1/6 of the whole in 1 Day
therefore 5/12 part of whole work will b done in 5/2 Days or 2.5 days.
