Answer:

8 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total part of work be 1

2/3 part of work can be completed by A in 16 days

=> 1 part of work can be completed by A in 16÷ (2/3 )days

= 16*(3/2)= 24 days

Thus A alone can complete the work in 24 days

1/4 part of work can be completed by A in 3 days

=> 1 part of work can be completed by A in 3÷ (1/4 )days

= 3*(4/1)= 12 days

Thus B alone can complete the work in 12 days

A alone can do 1 part of work in 24 days

So, part of work A does in 1 day= 1/24

B alone can do 1 part of work in 12 days

So, part of work B does in 1 day= 1/12

So, part of work (A+B) can do in 1 day working together= (1/12)+(1/24)

= (3/24) = 1/8

So, 1/8 part of work is completed by (A+B) in 1 day

hence, 1 part of work can be completed by A+B in 1÷(1/8)= 8 days
