Given :-

  • A can do work in 60 days.
  • B can do work in 40 days.
  • C can do work in 30days.

Solution :-

Total work = L.C.M of (60,40,30)

Total work = 120

Efficiency = Total work /time

Efficiency of A = 120/60

Efficiency of A = 2

Efficiency of B = 120/40

Efficiency of B = 3

Efficiency of C = 120/30

Efficiency of C = 4

According to question :-

Initially A + B work for 3 days

Work completed in 3 days by A+B = (3+2)x3

Work completed in 3 days by A+B = 15 unit.

Now, we have to calculate the remaining work

Remaining work = 120 - 15 = 105 unit.

Now as per question C joins A and B, So;

Time taken by A + B + C to complete the remaining work = 105/(3 + 2 + 4)

Time taken by A + B + C to complete the remaining work = 105/9 = 35/3days

Total time taken to complete the work = 3 + 35/3

Total time taken to complete the work = 44/3 days

Hence :-

The required answer is 44/3 days.
