A's 1day work=1/3

B's 1day work=1/6

A+B's together 1 day work= 1/3+1/6=3/6=1/2

so they both will take 1÷1/2 i.e. 2days

The total number of days, A and B work together = 2 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

A can finish a job = 3 days and

B can finish a job = 6 days

To find, the total number of days, A and B work together = ?

A's 1 day's job = \dfrac{1}{3} and

B's 1 day's job = \dfrac{1}{6}

∴ (A + B)'s 1 day's job = \dfrac{1}{3} +\dfrac{1}{6}

= \dfrac{2+1}{6}

= \dfrac{3}{6}

= \dfrac{1}{2}

∴ The total number of days, A and B work together = 2 days
