A can do the work in 18 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/18 of the work

B can do the work in half the time

⇒ B can do the work in 18 ÷ 2 = 9 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/9 of the work

If A and B worked together:

1 day = 1/18 + 1/9 = 1/6 of the work

Answer: A and B can finish 1/6 of the work in a day.

Step-by-step explanation:

A can do the work in 18 days

=>1 day=1/18 of the work

B can do the work in half the time

=>B can do the work in=18/2=9 days

=>1 day =1/9of the work

If A and B worked together,

1day=1/18+1/9=3/18=1/6

Hence,A and B can finish 1/6 part of the work in a day.

Hope it helps...Thank you.
