A can complete a piece of work in 10 days.

A can complete 1/10 of work in 1 day.

B can complete a piece of work in 20 days.

B can complete 1/20 of work in 1 day.

A and B together can complete 1/10 + 1/20 of a piece of work in one day,

= 1/10 + 1/20

= (2 +1)/20 = 3/20 .

Take 2 days as 1 time-unit,

Time taken to complete the piece of work = 1/(3/20) = 20/3 time-units.

No of days = 2 x (20/3) = 40/3 days = 13 1/3 days.
